CFEclipse and Tasks

You can create tasks for your project by simply adding a TODO: comment in your code.

In the Tasks View you can now change priority for a task, and by double clicking it you can go straight to the code. Tasks will be visible by anyone that has access to your code so they are great for group projects as well as individual projects.

CFEclipse and adding mapped folders

In Eclipse you can add a folder to your project that is mapped to another folder in the file system. Coldfusion developers are used to this concept as ColdFusion server allows you to create mappings. Sometimes it is useful to create a linked folder in your project, such as for CustomTags or a mapping to a framework. In this video I show you how to do that. Quick simple, yet oddly effective.

CFEclipse customising the New File behaviour

With a default install of CFEclipse, when you right click on a project or folder to create a new file, you generally only have a few choices, but you can change what you have here, depending on what is most useful to you. In this little video tutorial I show you how to customise the right click menu to create a new item.

CFEclipse and Working Sets

Mark, I have many clients each with multiple projects. Currently when I create projects in CFEclipse I name them with the client name as a prefix (abbreviated). My project listing is now huge. Is there a way to create a project group and then place the projects within said group? And if so, can I move (or drag+drop) the current projects into said groups instead of having to recreate them all? Thanks!

Jeff, the way round this is to create a working set. I have made a little video on how to achieve this (its easier to show than to describe) and I hope this helps (just click on the image to view it)

You basically have to create a Resource working set whilst you are in the CFEclipse perspective. Then you can switch between clients and see all their projects, its not so much of a drag and drop, but more of a tick-the-box aproach.
